February Haiku include Valentines, of course, halfway between winter scenes and the first flowers and the first buds…
March
With March showing up, our haiku drift toward spring-like scenes, birds building their nests, flowers adorning naked limbs… and a few last snowflakes.
April
The April haiku are all about nature in spring, the Sakura season, April showers, and celebrations like Easter and Passover.
May
Mid-spring, and every haiku speaks of flowers, nesting birds, trees to hug, returning geese, Mozart accents in birdsong… and even harvest in Nigeria!
June
Under the June sun is a collage of flowers, birds, butterflies and yummy fruits. There is even a frog sitting on the greenest pads you have ever seen!
July
Between pink swans and sunbathing seagulls, July presents lots of summery imagery, from lemonade stands to forest fires, from baseball gloves to skimpy bikinis… and more!
August
Beach and ocean images again, weaving spiders, daisies and sunflowers… This all feels like August!
September
With September come the first images of autumn: harvest, falling acorns, geese flying south, fading sunflowers… and apples and honey to celebrate a New Year!

Besides swirling, drifting leaves, October is the month of pumpkins and all kinds of creatures enjoying the outdoors.

Between Hallowe’en and the first snowflakes, November fogs and the last falling leaves bring many images and thoughts.

December brings the first frost, bonfires and hot cocoa, holly, doughnuts, and snow on Christmas trees.
