He had to write that himself in the eponymous poem, which is also included in this book.
Symphony in Green
Ron’s second book presents a variety of themes, from the Australian countryside to art to music to history to literature to mythology… in which the poems and the poet’s musings are woven through his explorations of his beloved country, his life, real or imaginary, and his study.
About the Author
Ron Wiseman was born in Tara, Queensland, in 1937, the eldest of six children. After a few years spent on a dairy farm at Maroochydore, the family moved to Brisbane, where Ron learned then taught in turn, as a teacher and tutor to many.
Poetry found him after his retirement to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where he is still living with his wife Joy in a house overlooking the coast.
Since then, he has devoted himself to writing, while also editing and publishing anthologies of contemporary poetry featuring poets from around the world. He has been an active member of several writing groups, both on- and offline, and has visited many fellow poets in North America, Europe and South Africa.
Ron’s lifelong love of learning and poetry continues to shape his writing, drawing inspiration from poetry classics, memory, nature, family life, the Australian landscape… and a boundless imagination.
